Product Review: Charlotte Tilbury Makeup Products

CHARLOTTE TILBURY MAKEUP OVERVIEW

Darlings(lol), Charlotte Tilbury is a relatively new brand for me. I only started purchasing her products maybe 2 years ago. I discovered the brand Kim Kardashian West partnered with them on a lipstick. The first product I ever bought was pillow talk lipstick. Since then I’ve purchased many others, but these are my absolute favorites from her line thus far.

One thing is for sure about CT’s(Charlotte Tilbury) products, they are picturesque! Some of the packaging is a beautiful rose gold with a nice weight to it that makes it feel luxurious. I am all about the feels. For some, packaging is just frill, but I like feeling fabulous whenever I pull out my makeup. Nice packaging has a lot to do with that feeling. I really appreciate that about CT’s design.

As for the products, below are the products that I’ve purchased and used myself. These products are not the only ones I’ve purchased, they’re just the ones I like the most and continue to use.

SCULPT

Filmstar Bronze & Glow Duo

This is another CT product I reach for often. I have used 2 of these palettes since I first discovered Charlotte Tilbury products. It’s the first product I purchased from the brand. At first glance, I thought that this would too light for me, but it’s buildable and just right. I swipe this across my cheeks and nose, my jawline, and my forehead using a MAC 135.

CONTOUR

Hollywood Contour Wand

I use this every time I want to really do my makeup and it makes such a difference. It makes contouring so easy. I apply it to my cheeks, jawline, nose, and forehead. I buff it in with a MAC 168. I have a love/hate relationship with its’ packaging. The sponge tip is amazing because it makes it so easy to apply, but no matter how tightly I close it, there is always a mess in the cap. It’s so good that I would repurchase it though. This is especially perfect for anyone doing their makeup in a rush or new to contour. There are only 2 shades and I use fair/medium.

SETTING POWDER

Genius Undereye & Face Setting Powder

I have this in the fair shade. I only use it for my face and have been pleasantly surprised with it. The only other setting powder I like as much is the Laura Mercier one. In my opinion, this is just as good as Laura Mercier’s. I know it says that you can use it for your under eye, but I prefer Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for my under eye.

CONCEALER

Magic Away Concealer

Out of all the makeup products I use, I am the least loyal to concealers. I usually use NARS custard or IT Cosmetics ByeBye Under Eye. I use to use Tarte Shape Tape too. This is a newer product for me. I like the formula a lot. I feel like I don’t even have to set it, which is not normal for me. I have a lot of creasing in my under eyes, so I never thought I would say that about a concealer. I also have a lot of concerns about my dark circles so I like that it’s full coverage. I really enjoy this product, so much so that it has made its way into my makeup bag… not that I’m taking my makeup bag anywhere these day(hello, coronavirus), but that’s still an honor for any makeup product LOL!

COLOR CORRECTOR

Magic Vanish Color Corrector

I use this for my dark circles. Prior to finding this product, I was using LA girl peach color corrector from CVS. It was too dark, but it lasted forever. If you have a darker complexion, definitely try LA girl color correctors. I needed a lighter peach shade not offered by LA girl. I’ve had this for months now and I found the perfect shade in CT. A little goes a long way. It’s very a small compact and I keep it in my makeup bag because there is nothing I hate more than my dark circles. It’s so cute. It even has a good mirror on it too.

HIGHLIGHTER

Beauty Highlighter Wand

This is a great beach or pool day product. I decided to give this a try after I saw Freddymylove on YouTube using it. If you just want to look like a glowing goddess, this is your product. I take it with me on beach days. I apply a little throughout the day if I feel I look too powdery to give my face some life. It brightens my mood. I have it in the shade ‘Goldgasm’. My only complaint is the packaging. The twist open/close applicator can get messy. It has the same packaging as the Hollywood Contour Wand.

PRIMER

Hollywood Flawless Filter

I love this stuff! I use it with my makeup forever or Dior foundations since I don’t have a Charlotte Tilbury Foundation. It gives you a really beautiful, glowing complexion that is perfect for summer. On days I don’t want to wear full glam, I mix it with sunscreen (I like EltaMD UV Daily Broad Spectrum SPF 40) or It Cosmetics CC+ Cream. The effect is the same but a little more glowy, since the lighter consistency of the sunscreens don’t overpower it. I usually just apply it with my hands or a beauty blender. I use shade 3 light/medium.

FINISHING POWDER

Airbrush Flawless finishing Setting Powder

I use this product everyday in the medium shade; there are only 3 shades. Its amazing for setting my concealer after I’ve used a setting powder. It makes it full proof. I could use it all over my face, but I mainly only use it under my eyes. I love using under my eyes after I’ve applied concealer and set them with Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes. Just like the website description says, it’s super fine and gives you an airbrushed finish you’d have to try it to believe. I promise you’d be hooked if you tried it though. I usually buff it on with a beauty blender or I tap it on with a MAC 240S. It even stays on through an entire hot yoga class(yes, I wear makeup when I workout sometimes).

Cheek to Chic Blush

This is a great blush and one of my first charlotte tilbury purchases. It’s one of my top blush recommendations. I got it in “Love Glow”.

LIQUID LIPSTICK

Hollywood Lips Liquid Lipstick

I received this as a gift from my sister and this is no doubt one of the best liquid lip stick formulas I have ever tried, if it isn’t the best. Its so velvety, doesn’t transfer, and very pigmented. I was gifted the shade ‘screen siren’, which is a beautiful bright ruby red. I wear it for special nights out because it’s so bold. If you are in the market for a bold lip color, try these! The formulas are incredible. They stay on all night, even after eating. This really feels like velvet. The packaging and applicator tip deserve a whole other paragraph for themselves too. This is a product that was done 100% right.

CREAM STICK

Beach Stick

I was reluctant to put this product in here, but I’m doing it anyway because I use this everyday. Its in my purse at all times and I’m on my second stick. This product was made for you to use as a cream blush or lip tint. I have it in the shade ‘Formentera’. I use it as a lipstick. It’s very drying on the lips, but I am obsessed with the way the color looks. It’s a gorgeous orangey-red shade. Most will not purchase this for using it the way I do, but I had to mention it because I use this product every single day on my lips. If my lips feel dry, I add a balm over it.

LIPSTICK

Matte Revolution Lipstick

I have this in Bond Girl and Pillow Talk, but I find myself reaching for Bond Girl more because of my skin tone. I like the way it looks with my complexion. The formula is very matte so I usually go over it with a clear gloss if I want a more glowy look. Sometimes, when I don’t the full effect, I just pat it onto my lips. It makes it look more natural. There’s a lovely weight to it and the ridges in the packaging are nice.

LIP LINER

Lip Cheat Lip Liner

Whenever I get a lip color, I try to get the matching lip liner too. I like the feel of perfectly lined lips that blend in with my lipstick color. I have this in Bond Girl. I like the color so much that I sometimes use this with other lipsticks. It’s a beautiful formula.

EYESHADOW PALETTE

Luxury Eyeshadow Palette- Pillow Talk Collection

I don’t use this everyday, but it’s great for a casual date night or even for work with a light hand. It gives beautiful depth to brown eyes. I don’t use the sparkle as much as I use the top and bottom shades to the right side of the palette. I like that it’s so small with just 4 shades. Each shade has its’ purpose and the compact is perfect for vacationing with. The mirror is also nice and big. Whenever I go on weekend trips, I take this with me instead of a huge palette. It’s nice for a summer glow look or a neutral look with a pop of pink or sparkle. I don’t have to worry about it not going with the outfit I’m wearing because although it’s got pink, it’s fairly neutral.

CONTOUR BRUSH

Hollywood complexion brush

I love this brush because its sturdy, good quality, and small. I use it with the film star bronze and glow contour palette. I use the small side for a nose contour and the bulkier side for my blending contour on my forehead, cheeks, and jawline. It’s great for keeping in your makeup bag.

SKINCARE

Multi-miracle Glowing Cleaning Balm

The saleswoman in Norstrom sold this product to me as a moisturizer, but it’s actually a cream-to-oil three-in-one cleanser, mask, and balm. I had no idea for the longest time and I was just using it at night to moisturize. It’s a great mask and balm as well. I love multi-use products. It’s beautifully packaged, smells and feel amazing on the skin as well.
